Card of the Week & Fab 5!

Aaaaah the last week of Summer Vacation lies ahead and I am not even halfway into my Summer Fun to-do list.  I have scheduled something different for each day next week so it is going to be a good one!   I have a few crafty things lined up that I am working on so all in all this Summer has been great and I can confidently send the little ones off to school knowing that we are all ready for Back to School *wink*!

I could not hide my enthusiasm when I first saw this card.  Although detailed with a lot of product Lauren has managed to keep it uniform with a simple color palette and open spaces amongst the embellishments.  I love the whimsy and flow.  The surprise factor is another fun element on this card.  First you see a banner (no wait there are two) then flowers, crowns, bling, strawberries, shoes and palaces....oh my! Such a treat and a great take on the sketch - Awesome job Lauren!

Welcome to August and the promise of gorgeous weather as we slowly ease into fall while others see the promise of spring.  We will spend the next week enjoying our last few days of Summer vacation before we get ready for school.  Although I am more than ready for my girls to get back we have had an enjoyable time together forming lasting memories of the Summer of 2010.  Documenting those memories on scrapbook pages and making cards to be treasured is what we do here in 2S4Y Land and I am pleased to introduce to you today, our new Design Team for Fall 2010.

This week we had the pleasure of working with digital images from Tiffany Doodles .  We asked Tiffany herself to tell us a little more about the company:

"Hi! I’m Tiffany Richards, owner of Tiffany Doodles. I’m having the time of my life doing what I was born to do! My background is in Wed Design and Photography. I have been self employed for eight years and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my work! Since childhood, I’ve always been creative and taken great pleasure in drawing and painting. About a year ago, I discovered the stamping and paper crafting world and just fell in love!! In a very short order, I began transforming some of my drawings and doodles into “digis”. It has truly been a joy to share them with folks. I get so thrilled every time I see something new that someone has created with one of my stamps!! Each design is like a child of mine and it’s really neat to see it all grown up and out in the world being all it can be…LOL! "

All of the digital images are originally created by Tiffany.  Most are hand-drawn while others are brushed up in Photoshop using the pen tool to produce very clean lines.  We loved the images in PhotoSketches  which Tiffany transformed into sketches from her own photographs!

I am in awe at all the talent this industry has to offer! I always have a very hard time picking COTW. Narrowing the choice down to one is always daunting but very well deserved! Another amazing week with a gallery bursting at the seams with the most gorgeous cards imaginable.  This was another special week at 2 Sketches 4 You as we continue our quest to find our newest Design Team member and your cards and enthusiasm did not disappoint.

Man oh man is it hot out there or what! Not only is it hot outside but here in 2 Sketches 4 You land the creativity is on fire too!  What fantastic cards graced our gallery last week - so much so that Laura showcased the Fab 10! instead of our usual Fab 5!  She did manage to find one card that stood out just a tad above the rest and received the well deserved honor of Card of the Week.  Congratulations Angie Tieman on a beauty of a card last week and welcome to our Team.  We are excited to work with you and be inspired by your interpretations of our sketches begining August.

Now I know some of you might find this sketch a little challenging.  I must admit I took a moment to think which direction I wanted to take (and it's my own sketch!!!!) but I think you will agree that the Design team did a fantastic job of showing you different methods and styles of interpreting the sketch...

Phewwww this week was fun and boy did we have some top notch entries! Thank you to everyone we participated in the chance to be chosen as a new design team member here at 2S4Y!
