2008 Fall Design Team, Card of the Week & The Fab 5! - WOW

Over 150 entries were received for our Fall Design Team call. To say that the competition was high is an understatement. This momentous event attracted card makers from all over the world.

Thank you to everyone that submitted. We were so overwelmed by the magnificent cards that we hope that those that were not selected this time will continue to be inspired by the Sketches and the design team and apply for our Winter Design Team call later this year.

Kazan's Sketch 5





Wow! Is a great word to use when you see the kit that Dixie Pieces is offering as a prize this week for Card of the Week.

Dixie Pieces is a monthly scrapbook kit company celebrating its first birthday November 1st. Look for a huge celebration! They are also doing an online crop the first weekend in August. In May, Dixie Pieces added a monthly digital kit for their digital and hybrid customers.

The Dixie Pieces site offers a gallery and forum with monthly challenges for scrapbookers and cardmakers. The Dixie Pieces paper kits include a selection of fine papers, cardstock, and striking embellishments. These kits are available by subscription or can be purchased online each month individually. The digital kits offer printable elements that will look good added to your paper projects, plus quality patterned backgrounds, unusual embellishments, and plenty of ribbons, flowers, and other basics to coordinate. A new paper kit is offered on the first of every month; a new digital kit is offered on the 15th of every month.

Laura and I will be super busy this week searching for our new Fall Design Team. The standard is extremely high and we have received a record number of really beautiful cards - it is going to be a tough week for sure before we announce our team
next week! Thank you to everyone that sent in an application we are really enjoying going through the applications and look forward to making our final selection.

Laura and I are both excited to announce this morning that Cards has picked up four of our cards for publication. One of Laura's cards is from 2S4Y so if you scroll down you will see an Out for Publication sign and her other one you may have seen on her blog. My two cards were not posted anywhere so I have no "Signs" up but you will be able to see all of our cards in the December publication of Cards.

*Don't forget Caardvaarks is hosting a fun Challenge using a new sketch from both Laura and myself. The winner of the Caardvarks Challenge gets to be a Guest Designer on that blog - cool!*
